I’m Ethan, a writer in California.

I am Mintlify’s first knowledge engineer. I maintain mintlify.com/docs, launched learn.mintlify.com, and tune all the prompts powering Mintlify’s agentic features. I also do plenty of live customer training and recorded lessons.

Before Mintlify, I held a variety of roles on the Docs team at GitHub. I owned the content design system used by the Docs team and our open source contributor, led cross-team content strategy, and managed a team focused on helping people use GitHub while learning to code.

I’m most interested in helping people learn to use new devtools and building confidence in what they can create.

All views on this site are my own and don’t represent past or current employers. I do not use AI tools for blog posts. But I don’t really care if you do.

Outside of work, I write short fiction, long fiction, and essays. Beyond writing, I love games and puzzles; time with my family and friends; and experiences in nature that remind me I’m small and it’s okay.
